"Geoprogress, ONLUS, wants to contribute to the progress of humanity and its territories, above all by promoting the growth and dissemination of knowledge and the improvement of the qualities of human resources and of the terrestrial ecosystem"
The progress of humanity and its territorial communities requires, along with new relations between the North and the South of the world, sustainable development, an alternative to the current.
It can be achieved above all by pursuing the following objectives:
- The progress of scientific knowledge and the growth of the individual and collective consciousness of the emerging problems of the ecological and socio-economic systems, of the organization and changes of the terrestrial space and its geosystems, from the global to the macro-regional (or supranational), national scale and sub-national;
- The progress and diffusion of participatory planning, as a fundamental method of territorial governance, understood as a space-environment of human action and conceived as a system resulting from the interactions between the physical-biological environment, socio-economic environment, political-institutional environment and ideological-cultural environment;
- Greater growth and diffusion of knowledge, educational levels, governmental capacity and therefore greater progress in the living conditions (economic, social and ecological) in the countries of the "South" of the world and particularly in the poorer ones.
